Antony Johns – Choreographer, Director, Producer and Creative for Check Events. 

Antony has been honoured at receiving the “Outstanding Service to Dance” Award at this years 2019 TDCI’S Carl Alan Awards in Blackpool.

Antony ’s Career has taken him all over the world from performing, choreographing and directing, creating costumes for productions, working in all aspects of the entertainment industry his West End debut was in Gypsy, Performed in his first film Bugsy Malone.

He joined The Young Generation for the BBC and worked with all the top choreographers around the world, which lead to working with Wayne sleep’s company; Dash, he joined Dougie Squires 2nd Generation group and appeared in Television, Theatre, Cabaret, Revues throughout the world. 

He was given his own Television series for the BBC “Count Me In“ which lead to numerous children’s television programmes for both BBC & ITV as well as Theatre Performances…

His Choreography work has been in the four corners of the globe in Theatres, Television, Musicals, Theme Parks, Cruise ships and his long association with Blackpool Pleasure Beach, With the award winning shows; Eclipse, Hot Ice and Mystique, as well as being Creative Director at Pleasure Beach until 2014.

He has been honoured in choreographing Royal Events and Pageants including the BAFTA award winning Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday celebration at Windsor Castle. 

For the past 5 years, he has staged the finale at The the Olympia Horse show, and Dame Vera Lynn’s Celebration London Palladium, this year he choreographed the award event for DRP, Sternberg Clarke, British Telecom at Birmingham NEC, The Queen Victoria Pageant – Windsor, Visit Britain Gala Westminster and is creating over 1000 costumes for Bor Productions.

His passion for Dance has given him the opportunity to guest lecture at all the major colleges and dance schools throughout the UK. He has worked with Dougie Squires OBE MVO for the past 40 years, and together three years ago created a reunion of the GENERATION Dancers, Such a success that now they meet from all over the UK twice a month for a afternoon of dance creating a Generation Family of all the dancers that worked with both Dougie and Antony.
