Well the summer is coming to a close , Although the past few days glorious sunshine ….
Have spent the summer at the thatch and enjoyed our time here … so much has gone on in the world and its great to be slowly getting back to some events in the near future …
Since May I have continued doing the live classes on zoom for the Generation Dance , Although had some classes off due to an injury its taken its time to heal …
Lucky enough have seen quite a few friends popping down to the village, some lovely weekends with my friends Reece and Scott , We celebrated christmas presents in end of May lol, so they have been down twice and we have been up to see them twice with travels to Edinburgh … so glad covid was lifted …. they created a beautiful album of memories as a gift.
Had some fun with Sir Michael and Lady Emma and nice food…oh the joy of the first meal out after lockdown was sheer heaven,
my mother had her 91st Birthday bless her and my father his 93rd … I felt like i had turned into a catering company !!!
The garden has been a joy this year the flowers with all its blooms has been lovely to watch, although its hard work,
Been great having my brother move into the next village he is slowly settling in, totally love his garden, when he is down here been nice that we have caught up with each other ,many a latte in Stockbridge
Had a hysterical day taking my father out to Gun wharf in Portsmouth
We did our first event after 18 months which was the Royal Windsor Horse Show we supplied entertainment for the south lawn which went down very well, the weather good for us so it was a fun few days and we are now working on the the Pageant for the HRH the Queens 75 anniversary the platinum jubilee for 2022
It was great to see her Majesty at the Horse show she was there everyday and enjoying herself .. great photos of her laughing, i nearly got knocked over by her driving …
Sad news Dougie’s closest and our dear friend Una had not been to well during covid, she had moved up to Edinburgh, to be near one of her sons who had fabulously got her a cottage and a carer, we weren’t able to visit last year over covid, and now covid was lifted we arranged our visit to Edinburgh to see her we killed two birds with one stone it started off a visit to LONDON ( oh the joy of London) to see a costume exhibition the dinner with Biggins that had been far too long not seeing him lovely tonic he is the best at making you laugh ..next morning drove from London to Mansfield to see Dougie’s sister Pearl for lunch then drove on to Edinburgh long drive but beautiful driving around Berwick into Edinburgh, I think it was about 9 hours that day of driving! we went to visit Una the next morning, a lovely house and garden so lovely to see her, she looked as beautiful as ever , i will post a tribute to Una later … it was very emotional and filled with love with all her strength she got up to wave us good bye a moment i will never ever forget… the bond between Dougie and Una was very special… sadly a few weeks later she passed ….. god bless her … the out cry of love for her was beautiful ….
Our trip back via Manchester helped and cheered our spirits up seeing our friends only to have to do the whole journey again a few weeks later for Una’s funeral which was sad but lovely and oh so Una, stylish, full of love and oh so chic …Happy Memories… I was so touched they read my letter to uni at the service . it was lovely to reflect her friendship with dougie on our journey and the weather was beautiful the drive on the A407 was stunning…
In the in-between weeks went to London to see “Anything goes “ Another trip to London ! lunch with fabulous Su Pollard at Zedel which was great fun.. fantastic that I have got Dougie in a chair was able to zoom him around the West End next day lunch at the original Ivy still the best ! with Barbara Ferris and Jean Muir Barbara is one of the kindest persons I have ever known .. Dougie’s closet friends are so special

We went to visit another Dougie’s close friends Linda and Ray Cooney at their beautiful house in Epping for a lovely lunch with Annie Rogers , Linda is another really kind lady she does so much for everyone she gave us a painting which will enjoy looking at with affection to Linda and Ray
On our second visit to Edinburgh stopped off on the way to see my friend Reece in Blackpool, not been there in over a year , so proud of him and his company and what he has achieved Winnie tree properties and stays in Blackpool more of that to follow later no doubt . and on our return stayed with them in Manchester .I love the Atmosphere in Manchester , and we went for a an amazing meal at the Blackfriars … Dougie said it was the best meal he had had in ages … ( so that made me feel good ! not) joking
So its been quite a summer lovely seeing friends LIsa and Pat, Judy, Geoff and Richard , Nancy Chris Isobell and Clara ,The Campbells ,Izzy, Simon and Ash and congratulations as they have got engaged!
My dear sister is still being full time looking after her husband Terry she has done remarkable well bless her I dont know how she does it … My mother is always pleased to see us and enjoyed our trips out for lunch no wonder i need to go on a diet ….
My Father has now gone into care , Paul and I visited him this week , very emotional for me but he is in the best place possible for him .. our meeting was humble and touching bless him…
so now got to get get on with things …. Generation class back live this Sunday! and getting together press launch for the jubilee and Dougie has written a play that they are doing a reading of it at the Cooneys next month And then before long it will christmas shows to prepare ! and for me to catch up and blog shorter ones and more often ! and sort out 1000’s of photos !
